Dress Code

Helps to reduce distraction and competitiveness in class, puts all dancers on equal basis …

Promotes discipline, and enables instructors to view the lines of each dancer.

A dress code permits faculty to evaluate and correct student alignment/body extension and creates a sense of group identity. A dress code also eliminates the pressure parents get from children to compete with other children’s attire.

Students may not wear extra layers as it obstructs the view of proper placement of the body.

Shoes are the required styles for the year end performance as well. So, you will not have to buy new shoes unless they have outgrown theirs.

Shoes-We care about dancers feet and proper fitting. Better shoes allow for better movement and better use of feet.

Please check dress code before purchasing items elsewhere to ensure your purchase correct attire. Buy from reputable dance retailers only. Discount chains usually do not have proper dance shoes or proper fitting.. Leotards-solid black, No cotton leotards(it shrinks and fades.) or halter leotards allowed. Older dancers, please have proper leotard linings or undergarments. Racerbacks tops are not dance attire. If you need a bra, wear leotards that cover the bra or buy the leotard with wire support or inner front liner. Leotard should fit dancers body with only a little room for growth as leotards are designed to stretch.  Leotards should not be baggy or loose to see proper alignment and placement.
